I have some aspx pages & membership provider vb files I would like to use in a Dreamweaver cs4 web site. Are there any good tutorials or FAQ pages anybody knows of to help me to get started ? I have only just got Dreamweaver installed so am a complete newbie
but have done quite a bit of VB & .net. My membership & profile providers are needed on the DW site ! Also, I will need to add my web.config file - no idea how it all works, have pulled my hair out reading the help files for Dreamweaver...
You would be better off downloading and using Visual Web Developer. It's free and offers native support for ASP.NET, including a debugger (which DW doesn't include). There are loads of tutorials here:
www.asp.net/learn, and VWD can be got from the Downloads section of htis site.
Thanks for the reply but yes, I think you misunderstood my question. I have developed a nice, well-behaved ASP.NET web site in VS but unfortuneatley it needs to be part of a Dreamweaver web site. I need to know if it can be migrated and if so, how ? Hope
this makes more sense !!
Can't think of a single reason why you want to do this.
Anyhow, apparantly Adobe dropped .Net support in CS 4
adobe
Adobe announced in August 2007 that it was removing ASP.NET server behaviors from Dreamweaver CS4 (http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402489). The announcement was made more than a year in advance of the release of CS4
to give developers sufficient time to make plans for alternative workflows. As far as I know, there is currently no plan to restore ASP.NET support in a future version of Dreamweaver. Sorry.
