    Hi folks

I'm wondering if anybody could help me out with a potentially complex question? I have 'inherited' responsibility for a PHP web site that has been created with the 'CMS Made Simple' content management system. I've never used PHP, so I'm hoping that there is a reliable way to at least partially automate the conversion, as I reckon that would be a lot quicker than me trying to learn PHP from scratch! The existing site is not dynamic as such, only consisting of several static web pages, but I want to build in database functionality, probably using a DAL and BLL implemented as DLLs, that I would like to write in VB.NET in Visual Studio, and an updated Presentation Layer that uses ASP.NET

Can anybody advise me whether it would be possible to perform this migration from the PHP site to an ASP.NET site, with any ideas on retaining CMS functionality for a non-technical user base? I assume that the Migration Assistant would be able to handle the PHP to ASP.NET conversion, but is there any way to migrate the 'CMS Made Simple' framework for the site into an equivalent CMS for ASP.NET, such as AxCMS.NET for example, that would still allow users to edit content remotely?

Does anybody have experience of this sort of scenario and does my approach sound horrendous? Would it be more practical just to rebuild the web-site from scratch for ASP.NET and AxCMS.NET, given that the web site currently only consists of static web pages?

Any pointers in the right direction would be very welcome indeed!

    Thanks very much.
