Is Windows 7 Home Premium really causing problems with ASP.NET development on a localhost box? I need to know before getting it for a new dev box. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have used windows 7 with visual studio 2008. It was working fine for me. You should not worry. Go for it.

There is an upgrade wizard for Windows 7, I suggest that you run it before getting Windows 7 so that you are fully informed as to:
Are all of your devices supported?
Are there are programs that need to be de-installed before upgrading (and possible re-installed afterwards)?
What research you need to do to check for upgraded drivers for printers.
The upgrade can take hours to run.

I am planning to get a brand new box with Windows 7 Home Premium installed before installing VS2008, SQL2008 and Office 2008, etc...

It's also possible to install IIS 7.5 on Win7HP if you're going for advanced development too, so you should be alright.
I'm using Win7+VS2005+VS2008+VS2010+SQL2008.
Also, did you mean Office 2007 or Office 2010? :D
