I just bought a 64 bit laptop (first mistake). I loaded SQL Server 2008 64 bit version (second mistake).  I then loaded VS/2008. When I try to run the Business Intelligence Development Studio, it tells me "This program has compatibility issues".  I checked for solutions on-line with no luck.  Does VS/2008 not fully work on Vista 64-bit? I had the software working just fine on my 32-bit XP machine. Is there anything I can do before I trash it all going back to 32-bit when I get my Windows 7 upgrade?  Oh.. before I upgrade, does Windows 7 work with 64-bit machines and can I run it in 32-bit mode.  A lot of my other software programs will not.  Thanks.

Sorry if this is not the correct forum but I couldn't find the right place to ask.

I am running SQL Server 2008 on both 32 and 64 bit machines, no problem. I also have VS 2008 on each machine, no problem. I have updated all of the software on the mentioned machines, but I do seem to remember that the compatibility issues were solved by a visit to Windows Update. It might just do the trick for you as well. :-)

    Good luck...

    Thanks
