Hi ,

I am not able to uninstall the sql server express edition from my laptop.Whenever I try to uninstall it a message comes saying to install .net framwork 2.0.

I have win vista ultimate in my system.When I try to install .net framework 2.0 it says that vista don't support .net framwork 2.0.

What should I do?

Try to uninstall in safe mode.

which win vista ultimate you use is it 32 Bit or 64 Bit. if 64 bit then search for that....

Thats strange, I think Vista be default comes with .NET framework 2.0. You don't have to explictly install it on the machine.

Mine is 64 bit...cn't say why this is happening.Also from a couple to weeks on restarting the system

the system show installing updates 3 of 3 and again restarts.I hve to restore the machine to an earlier ver and then it works fine.

Any idea why this is happning????

This happen when automatic updates on for windows to update it updates windows online from microsoft center. But it can be on when you have licensed version. It updtes windows by patches and other files...

Yes  I have a licenced ver maybe this can be the reason that the updates are installing automatically ,even thou

1:)If you know when you instaled sql server you can use system restore and restore your PC when it worked good.

2:)Go to services and make sure NET Framework is running.

3:)You shuld update your system maybe it will fix the error.
