I want to build mobile site but I need some advice.

I have already build standard desktop ASP.NET application, I want to make new folder where I would make mobile ASP.NET pages so that I can use classes from ASP.NET desktop.
Desktop application is , for example, on domain www.mysite.com on my web host server.

Now, I want to make  a subdomain on my web site host, for example mobile.mysite.com, so that users can go to mobile ASP.NET application.

Can someone give me some advice how to do that, what is needed, I am beginner, so some help I would appreciate.

    Hello

    moxol:
Now, I want to make  a subdomain on my web site host, for example mobile.mysite.com, so that users can go to mobile ASP.NET application.

No need to create seperate subdomain, you can have single domain for your standard ASP.NET website as well as mobile version. What you can do is you track whether request is coming from Mobile device than redirect the user to mobile optimized .aspx pages. So it is easy for you to market your website with single domain.

You can use http://www.51degrees.mobi/Products/NETMobileAPI/tabid/86/Default.aspx it is free open source asp.net open mobile api which helps is tracking whether request is coming from mobile devices and redirects user to mobile optimized .aspx pages without changing any existing web pages. It makes use of WURFL the most upto date mobile device database. Along with this it also gives you detailed capability info of mobile device making request which you can use to customize pages for each mobile device.

You can see articles for same here http://dotnetslackers.com/articles/aspnet/Mobile-Device-Detection-and-Redirection-Using-ASP-NET-MVC.aspx

Use this it will make things easy for your mobile web development.

    Thanks

    Hello,

the current approaches are ASP.NET Web Forms or MVC applications. Take also a look at this forum thread about the Mobile Device Browser File from Microsoft and how to use Browser Definition Files in your mobile projects.
