    Pak514:

If you need to ask that question you shouldn't be programming.

     Why?

I guess it depends on what you prefer. If you're a visual thinker then videos may be better. Both videos and books are good when combined together in my opinion.

Good question.  I can tell you from my experience that I've learned a lot from the video tutorials on this site, especially as far as the AJAX COntrol Toolkit goes, as well as some of the newer features of .Net 3.5 (not so new now, but at the time...).  I didn't think I could find a good book on those specifically, and even so, I don't think it would be worth it.

On the other hand, if I was learning ASP.NET from scratch, or C#, or SQL, or something like that, I think a book would serve me better.  But best of all is practice (for me anyway).

They compliment one another! Sometimes something needs to be demonstrated yet sometimes you need to read a book.

I am definiatley going to say books! Their is something that you just cant get out of a movie you can in books. Look at the Chronicals of Narnia The Movie is just terrible but the books are fenominal. Or if you want to go  the audio book root its even better. I picked up a complete set from www.audiobooks.net and havent been hapier. Also i find that im not as wired after listening to these as i am from watching a movie.
