    Hi,

    There is already a post with same name but it is not resolved .....Following is link for that post I am also having the same problem...

    as mentioned in the post I am also reparing/reinstalling the VS2005 but it is not the way...

    If any one know about this please help me out from this

    and one thing I installed

    MSVS 2005 Professional Edition

    and

    MSVS 6.0 Enterprise Edition

    Is this the probs???

    Answer

     Hi,

    If we create a simple ASP.NET web application, does it have the same issue? If yes, it seems that the .Net Framework is corruption. Please install .Net Framework sp2 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5B2C0358-915B-4EB5-9B1D-10E506DA9D0F&displaylang=en).

    Did you install any antivirus software? It might be deleted as un-saft file.

    You also can try to run "devenv.exe  /log <full path to log file>" to generate log file to troubleshoot this issue.

    Hi,

    As per your suggation I have downloaded .NETFW2.0SP2_X86 and installed....

    Now error remaining is

    "Unable to connect to Visual Studio's Localhost web server"

    I didn't understand  anything from this please help me out from this

    and one more thing

    I have Avast antivirus installed on my m/c should I uninstall it?

    and Simple ASP.NET web application also  showing me same error

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

    We don't need to uninstall the Avast antivirus, You can configure it not to monitor devenv.exe file.

    Based on the logs, there are a couple of exceptions on load Package. We can "devenv /resetskippkgs" to merge the resource metadata that describes menus, toolbars, and command groups from all VSPackages available.
