Although this does not answer your question, it is indirectly related:
iis 7.5 supports FTP over SSL but AFAIK the plain ftp.exe program
that ships with Windows does not. It would be great if Microsoft
also enabled FTPS.

I imagine the Microsoft could provide a combined SFTP/FTPS client.
I agree with alasaadi that built-in is generally advantageous
to third party. This forums.asp.net site is a good example:
the TinyMCE editor which AFAIK I know is a third party tool
seems to be less than perfect.
