I've build a new website on my local machine without any IIS host. How can I rename my website & make it appear in the solution explorer with that new name??

Website in Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 is like a folder. When you open it, you are actually giving a path to that folder. If it is a web application then there are 2 files, one is project file and other is solution file. Try renaming both of them.

I agree, you will see your website like a folder in VS and you could just change the folder name. What exactly you are trying to do?
