I just wondered if anyone could help me on the code needed to write a chat application in asp.net 2.0 (c#) . I have seen many samples, but not a good article form start to finish. I have looked at the code project articles, but most are not full blown ones. I need one enbeded in my web application, so when the user logs in on the web application login page they are auto added to the chat list, which displays user online. I would also need private chat, smiley faces, message to display a user typeing and database driven to store old messages etc. If anyone has such code or samples I would really be greatful. I do not want to pay for one, as I enjoy solveing my own problems or working through peoples code to see how they solve problems.
