i've got two websites.  one is hosted in the root directory, one in a subdirectory.  havinng trouble with the one in a subdirectory...

my domain name points to the subdirectory but all the links are relative to the root...meaning that my subdirectory always appears in my links...is there a way to trick the server into thinking that the subdirectory is the root?

    thx

A few options are available depending on your platform, configuration....ect  Starting with the simplest possible solution, I would first ask what hosting service are you using?

Go to you Control Panel -> Virtual Directories -> Select Virtual Directory -> Select Edit.

Instead of pointing it to your folder select 'A URL' and enter the path of you wesite and virtual directory. e.g. http://mysite.com/myvirtualdir in 'Redirect To'

and select 'Redirect to Exact URL'.

    Hope this helps...

well i'm using a 3rd party webhost so messing messing around with the server settings isn't going to be an option...is there a fix i can apply directly to my code?

Yes, I know. But 3rd party webhost also provides users with Control Panel where they can maintain their domain. Ask your hosting provider to give you the details about your Control Panel.
    Hope this helps...

    thanks.  your solution works.

i have my second domain pointing to a subfolder of my first domain:  www.domain2.com = www.domain1.com/subfolder.  i don't want people to actually see the name of domain1 so i'm in stealth mode...i guess this will work for now but having a static url address is an annoyance...(+ i see the name of domain1 in the links)

     thanks for your help
