    Hi guys,

This forum has really been a great  place to be.

My question is very simple. It is to do with installing its Database in Sql Server 2005

I downloaded TheBeerHouse Project and in the 'Read me' file in Step 1 instruction it says to copy the database file to:

    1) Copy the .mdf and .ldf files to a folder on the SQL Server computer, and name them
with a name you like. This is how I named mine:

       C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\TheBeerHouse.mdf
       C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\TheBeerHouse_Log.ldf

But guys there is no such database file called TheBeerHouse, there is however one database called ASPNETDB.mdf in path:

    ExtractedFolderName\TheBeerHouse\TBH_Web\App_Data

Ok then I renamed  this ASPNETDB.mdf  To TheBeerHouse.mdf

And then copied this renamed file to:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\

Is this the right way ?

My question is where do I get the TheBeerHouse.mdf?

Please reply. How did you guys install it?

You should be able to rename the file as you have, from ASPNETDB.mdf to TheBeerHouse.mdf.

Then, save it on your machine in a convenient location.

Then, after doing that, you want to "attach" the above file to an SQL Server instance. You can do this through the SQL Server Management Studio. Connect to the instance you want to use (probably SQLEXPRESS) then select the Databases node in the Object Explorer, then right-click, click Attach... and add it in the dialog.
