I am new to mobile applications and now I am working with a barcode scanner.  I have a barcode and when I scan that, I need to get the data from it. Can anybody please tell what classes I should use so that my windows application will recognise when I connect the scanner to the computer?

Most barcode scanners emulate keyboard input. You either have to monitor the keyboard buffer or use a text field to receive the information

Absolutely correct.

Tip: make your bar code applications work with and without a check digit.

But I am not able to capture data using a magenetic stripe reader. Can anybody help?

Magnetic Strip readers tend to be a bit more varied in design.  What product are you using or are going to recommend?
