Hello,

 I face lots of problem while developing application witht the silverlight. When silverlight version update by microsoft update its old version to new version why old version is not running. When we consider the final silverlight version and start developing application in it? Is silverlight 2 application will not work with  Silverlight 3 when it comes in market? Shall plug in of silverlight 3 will run silverlight 2 application. Why it is asking to download and install old version while we have update version ? why silverlight old version application unable to run with the new version like silverlight 1 application is not run with the silverlight version silverlight 2. Some of the demo in silverlight gallery is working and some needs silverlight plug in to download. When it ends ! Its really strange for developer to decide when development starts. We lost so many clients because of this version problem and they shift from silverlight to flash.

Please let me know if anyone know the solution for it,. Thanks in advance

Do have Full Compatible Thing for Develpment...
Install Vs2008...
Install Sp1 Release Vs2008...
then install Silvelight devlopment Template..
Then U Will have Complete Development Enviropment....
If Your using Silverlight Alpha Tool, or Using Vs2005 to develope Silverlight..
Then U will be in mess..

 Its nothing like server side things. It fails on client side by its updated plug-in. if i develop application in silverlight 1.0 and client has installed silverlight 2.0 then application fails on instializecomponent.

Its really panic to update the API for newer version every time so we expect some stable version or version compatibility on silverlight. Why silverlight does not give version compatibility between different versions. Why application fails if its develop in 1.0 and run in 2.0. It is also possible to develop application and it fails on silverlight 3.0 ? When microsoft will give final version of silverlight.

There will be stable build versions like 1.0, 2.0 and soon 3.0. However after that new versions will be shipped. I expect that a new version will be shipped every year or so (or sooner when needed). The competition in this market is pretty hard since they have to meet up against flash/flex/JavaFX.

If i run below link then it is running fine with silverlight 2.0 plug-in.

But same plug-in is not able to run the below link. What is the probable solution for it to run older version code with new plug-in ?

 It is like that when new version release we have to change the code and update our application code. If we see in flash it is never like that and we just have to update the plug-in but it did not stop the older version application to stop or asking older plugin to installed ? That what we can expect from microsoft in competitive market ?
