I have a website that uses themes and webparts. However, I don't want to use the default asp.net user tables, instead I would like to use my existing database structure (old databse from previous site - Ver 2 to moving to Ver 3 .net). I've read you can do this, but can't find any information on how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreicated.  Thanks.

Since you want to use your own database, I'm afraid you couldn't use the built-in membership providers e.g. SqlMembershipProvider. You need to write a custom membership provider to store/retrieve information from your own database. Here're some helpful articles discussing how to implement a custom membership provider:
