I have used the Time Tracker at least 4 times now to get various clients setup with a basic method of automatically tracking time expended against various projects. Each time I have had to go back to square one and fix all the problems I have found with the basic time tracker because I never kept the changes (stupid me). SO I decided to remedy that problem and post my latest work to CodePlex for people to update and use. I have incorporated several fixes from the forums here, as well as a few of my own. The 1.0 Beta release is now publicly available and there are several things left to do and test to get to a final release.

The site to download and contribute is at: http://www.codeplex.com/timetrackerce

I have just released Beta 2 with several major updates including an Installer that will allow you to Install all the database information by completing a simple wizard. This will allow installation to to either SQL Server or SQL Server Express.

I have a number of things I still want to fix in the application yet that I will be working on, but I hope to hear from community members on some of the things to be added. I will be mining these forums for ideas as well.

One thing I am intent on fixing is the Project Delete functions, but not in the way it is supposed to in the current application. I will be adding an Active status to the Project table and a project will be able to be deactivated and removed from the dropdowns, etc. This way historical data can be maintained when a project is closed out and still available to an admin if it is needed. An admin will still be able to delete a project in cases where it was created in error or it needs to be cleaned out of the database.
