Hi, I have this problem. In visual studio 2008, the datas source configuration wizard show me only 2 (entity and linq) of the datasource should be there. Do you know a solution to fix that?

    Hi sleek3,

I was curious if you ever found an easy solution for this.  I have the same problem on one of my three PCs (the other two show all possible data source types).

    Thanks.

Try to repair the software rather reinstalling.

I tried a few options to try to resolve this issue this weekend, unfortunately none of them worked, I still only see Entity and Linq data sources as options.

    • First I tried repairing VS2008, no change
    • Then I tried reinstalling VS 2008 SP1, no change
    • Finally I tried uninstalling and reinstalling VS 2008, then SP1.  I didn't really want to have try this, but I figured I'd spend 60 - 90 minutes and be done.  The interesting part here is that after reinstalling VS 2008, but not SP1, I did a test to see what I would and I got the same result, only Entity and Linq data sources as options.  I also reinstalled SP1 again with no change.

Here is what fixed it for me.

In my toolbox I had 2 data tabs after installing Microsofts Charting Tool. I moved the items from one data tab to the other and now all datasources show in the datasource configuration wizard

Thanks for the suggestion.  I did the same thing and that fixed it for me as well.
