How to create new database on oracle 9i for windows and assigning privileges( i mean username & password)?..
i was worked on sql server.am new to this oracle 9i..

In oracle a user is a schema, which is loosely called as database too.
Lets say you need to create a TestDB in oracle database, you would be creating a user named "TestDB"

Thanks again reddy for ur response.As u said "in oracle user is a schema..if u want to create a new user in oracle the first step is below
Start Console in stand-alone mode, double-click the Databases folder, double-click the database you want to work on, and log in as the DBA user (if necessary).
now my qn is if i have db then only i can create new user ri8?..
i wanna how to create db first of all?..if i did that only i can create a new user...
am i clear?..

What you are asking is called Instance.. Creating an Oracle instance is little more complicated.. If you have a DBA, I will suggest you to take his help.. If not, here is an article that talks about creating an instance in oracle
