My Visual Studio 2008 stops showing data source types on Data Source Configuration Wizard.
When this happens i was working on my project and one minute ago all types were listed normally.

At this moment, i've already repair Visual Studio, .NET Framework and no success.

I've already search on web and no solution at moment.

 Im having the same trouble :S how did you solve it please?

I've search a lot of time but no solution.

On that moment i couldn't wast more time so i decided to format the machine.

I am having the same problem and am not in a position to reinstall my machine due to workplace constraints.

I'm only trying to use the wizard while following a tutorial so it's quite frustrating that I don't get any options appearing.

It's because there are 2 lots of Data tabs in your toolbox within VS. Have a read.

The solution is the datasource reads from the tab called Data so if you have two tabs Data the first one should have the datasources inside.

My trouble started after installing Charts they were installed as a tab called Data.

Now i renamed the Data from Charts to Data Charts, and its working fine.

and you can also do another option move the datasources to the first Data tab.
