I would like to display some green check boxes to tell the user about some options. These checkboxes will not be enabled however because the user should not be able to make a selection. They might be checked or they may not be. Is it possible to use the checkbox control to display this or is it better to just display an image of a checkbox.

 You'll have better luck making an image for what you want to do. You can make it more striking/visible that way as well. Changing input control colors can be a pain. Or you can use CSS to change the background color of your checkboxes. Not quite the same thing though. Good luck!
