    Hi,

I read these these books and find quite useful.

Beginning C# 3.0: An Introduction to Object Oriented Programming

    http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/productCd-0470261293.html

Head first design patterns. This is not a C# book, all examples are in java; but it is a really good book to start with. Simple book with lots of day to day life related examples.

     Have a look at Murach's C# 2008 at http://www.murach.com/books/cs08/index.htm

There is a sample that you download and print. It combines theory with practical example. It is simple to start yet professional.
