I do have the SQL server manager running but the mdf file is not opening! I even tried to look up a program to OPEN WITH but there is no SQL server express in the list. I am only using my pc for development with MS SQL server express!

Without your help I can do nothing. When I help you and you can do something then do not forget to mark it as answer!!

What does "not opening" actually mean?

It is a sql db file and it cannot find an associated program to open. In the OPEN WITH list on explorer, sql server is not listed.

Without your help I can do nothing. When I help you and you can do something then do not forget to mark it as answer!!

You don't "open" MDF files like you would a text file or Word document. It's a database, you connect to it. Either in your app or in Visual Studio or Enterprise Explorer/SQL Manager.
