In Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Professional, there's a Find and Replace feature that is useful when editing code. By default, the "Look in:" field contains these options: Current Document, Entire Solution, Current Project. Also, you're able to type in a custom path to search. For example: "C\MyFolder\". These custom paths are remembered and added to the permanent list of "Look in:" options.

The problem that I'm trying to solve is how to remove added items from the list. For example, in the shot above, I don't want "rotation" to be one of the permanent "Look in:" options.

    Here's a screenshot

how would i remove the bottom 2 options

    Answer

    Hi,

    Sorry for later.

To delete the query name from Find and Replace window, you can delete it from Register by following steps:

    1. Close Visual Studio.

    2. Click Start, click Run, type Regedit, and then click OK.

    3. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\Find

    4. Delete query name.

    5. Close Registry Editor.

    I hope this helps.

Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
