Scott Gu said Preview 3 will be around in a few weeks in the beginning of April. Anyone hear any news regarding the release?

i'm not sure if preview 3 is out yet. But on the 16th april, the mvc team put a new build (with new features) onto the http://codeplex.com/aspnet

Since this was released about the time mentioned, perhaps Scott gu is referring to the 0416 release.

I also begin to ask myself this question...

I wasn't thinking that 08/04/16 was Preview 3... But I have now doubts.

Does anybody know?
 

 AFAIK the code released on codeplex at mid April is a sort of interim build to show to the dev community how the library is heading to... it's not the official Preview3, but it's a preview of the Preview3.

Simon is correct. So far, we've had the following:

• December CTP (effectively Preview 1)
• Preview 2
• April CodePlex Interim Release

Preview 3 is coming relatively soon.

The difference is that the Preview releases are released on ASP.NET, are "official" preview releases. They come with QuickStarts, videos, etc...

The CodePlex source releases are only released on CodePlex and are just meant to show the progress of the project. Think of them like a daily build, only they come out every few weeks. ;) They are much lighter weight, less supported, and don't come with documentation and videos, etc...
