    Try this

    Start | Run | cmd ---> Enter

    Run this

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i

    do the same for version 1.1 after locating the folder.

     Does scriptmap registration always fixes the problem?

     Please let me know if it fixed the issue!

    Answer

    download the software with the following location:

    http://www.denisbauer.com/NETTools/ASPNETVersionSwitcher.aspx

    now unzip the file and run the exe, it will detect the local host and all the virtual configurations defined in the  IIS

    now you can switch your site to any version installed on the machine.
