Hehe. Google is not always quite right ;-)

"Awesome" will in Swedish typically translate into to two words, of which "hemsk" can be the first one. Compare with "very good". When used alone, however, "hemsk" is a negative word, meaning "horrible". But  but when used in combination with "bra" (which means "good"), it will be "horribly good".

    Some other possible translations/synonyms:

Awesome => grym, asgrym, superbra, jättebra, kanonbra

    Enjoy the weekend!

Just to make the younger swedes born after the lunar landings happy, I'll have to add "fett bra", or possibly "fett coolt". On the other hand, my sons' favorite expression in this area right now is, literally, "awesome, dude". So I guess in some sense "awesome" in Swedish, is, well... "awesome"....

By the way - anyone noticing the moderators leading this thread seriously off-topic? Maybe we're having week-end blues...
