I am not sure what are you trying to do, but Fileupload control will not work in an update panel. you will have to keep this control outside the update panel.

i want to do that......... there is a ImageButton in the form and when the user click on this button then a panel would be shown. In the Panel there will be Controls which are: FileUploader and Button. The FileUploader will tell the user select file from your directory or My COmputer etc........... and there is a Button When the user will click on that Button the File will be uploaded to server side and That File Name will be shown in the TextBox which is placed in the Normal aspx Form.

The links you send are very useful but i want to do that in .net 3.5. with the help of ajaxToolkit which is in the .net 3.5. and there would be surely a FilaUpload Control in the ModalPopupExtender.
