I am using Vista Business and IE7.

When replying to posts, it takes a bit to load the editor, but most of the times, it gets stuck at <p></p> tags, when I refresh it, it starts showing Javascript errors, then I have to go back, click Reply again, and again go thru the same process untill I get the editor loaded completely.

Can something be done about the editor. Time and again users have complained about it. Other Microsoft forums also use editors (Windows Client forums specifically) and they work so smoothly.

I agree, the editor needs improvements.

I don't ever get stuck at the <p></p> tags though. It does show them for a few seconds (sometimes longer) but always ends up with the right interface.

One gripe I have is when you're adding code the modal dialog doesn't size properly and you have to scroll to see the submit button, which ends up scrolling the entire page. Then when you put your mouse in the modal it scrolls up again showing just enough of a sliver of the button to be clicked. Very annoying!!

Don't forget to click "Mark as Answer" if someone answers your question. Feel free to mark more than one answer, if you feel so inclined.

O yeah...it does load it, if I wait long enough. Another thing I am noticing today is that I can't select text from the post I am replying to and quote it using the Quote button. It doesn't do anything. I hand-typed the quote tags to quote you. Also, have you noticed the little drag-corner at the bottom right corner of the window of the editor, try using that. See if you get JS errors.

I think "overhaul" is a better word.

I never really bothered with the drag corner before. I'll try that next time. I tried it now just to see but I didn't get any javascript errors.

Also, I typically explicity type the quote tags.

And one other recommendation (if anyone ever reads this and takes it seriously): Allow me to use the tab key to create a tab and not skip to the Tags field below. If you could do that, that would be grrrreaaat. I'm gonna need you to come in on Sunday too. Mkay? Thaaanks. (Sorry random Office Space moment there)
