Ok after apply SP1 and the special KB download VS 2005 runs without startup errors.

It tells me I need to use the RUN AS Administrator account even though I am logged on as a user with administrator privelages.

Question 1 of 3: Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Question 2 of 3: Even after using the Run As command I get the following Dialog before VS 2005 starts.  Does anyone else also have the same problem?

Some Visual Studio 2005 tasks and scenarios will not work without Administrator permissions.  We recommend that you use 'Run as administrator' to launch Visual Studio.

Question 3 of 3:  Anyone have a solution to the above annoyances.

Not very sure if this will work 100% but give it a shot

Go to devenv.exe (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE) > Right Click > Properties > Compatibility Tab > select "Run this program as an administrator". 

A worthy idea.... tried it immediately but it doesn't work.

Exactly the same errors.

Hopefully someone else with post, getting confirmation that I am not the only one with the issue would be re-assuring as well.

These are all normal and not errors.  You need to turn off User Access Control if you don't want to use it.

That's a normal prompt - no error. But I have had only once after I installed the SP1. Now when I start the VS2005, it just prompts for normal UAC -- Administrator prompt, not that dialog.

I do not know exactly what I did (or choose on questions), but I change the compatibility mode of VS2005 to "Run As Administrator" by default -- I changed it from properties form.
