In my web application I am using the backend as ORACLE and dataprovider as ODP.net. When I try to open the connection, it throws an exception "External component has thrown an exception.". Please help me to resolve this.

This happens mostly when ODP.NET isn't installed or properly installed. Check your ODP.NET.

yes.. you are right... after reinstalling the ODP.net I won't get this error. Thanks...
