Hi, I'm really new to XML dev and would like to get a good book to get up to speed quickly. Like a Dummies book if possible, but I'll also need a good in depth book for reference, etc,. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Regards Tim Seymour, In.

I would recommend an O'Reilliy book. I suggest that you have a look at:

O'Reilley usually provide a FREE downloadable PDF of one chapter of each book! You can also get a Safari subscription and look at them on-line.

Disclaimer: I work for Wrox. But I know that many customers love our Beginning XML book, currently in the 4th edition.

    http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-XML-4th-Programmer/dp/0470114878

It's in depth, covers a lot of ground, but moves at a good pace with a lot of examples for Beginners. Hope this helps.

This is a great book it will teach you XML plus walk through some case studies to show you how you can apply your knowledge. If you go to the Wrox website I think you can download a free chapter.

    Tatworth,

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I'm not a big oreilly fan, but that was because a long, long time ago, when I was really good at Classic ASP, I bought a book and didn't like it, but that's been many years ago. I actually bought it because I needed a reference book, but it was my fault as it was sort of a "teach you enough to do scripts sorta book if memory serves me".

Thanks again, and sorry for taking so long to answer.

    Tim

    Jim,

Thank you so much. I love, or have loved most all of the Wrox books I've used. I learned classic ASP by using one of your books, and at the time in the 90's in my area of Indiana I was one of the few in this area that knew, or had knowledge of the same. It helped me make some great money! hehe.. Thanks. I'll check them out..

best regards and I apologize for the slow answering. Illness slows me down a bunch.

    Tim
