I keep encountering this error when I try to install another SQL Server after uninstalling Express:

The System Configuration Check for Performance Monitor counter registry value has failed. For details, see How to: Increment the Counter Registry Key for Setup in SQL Server 2005, in the readme file or in SQL Server Books Online.

I've looked up the solution and it says to change the Perflib entry in the register...only I don't seem to have one! this is highly annoying as I can do nothing to remedy the situation. Any ideas?
