Dear sir,

I have Windows XP on my PC. ISS 5.1 is activated. .Net framework is working fine. From Internet browser i am able to access html/aspx files on the same computer.

My net work of three computers is ok as I am able to ping this computer from other computers on the network am also able to access the shared files and printer.

I am not able to fetch the html/aspx files on this computer through internet browser from other computers on my network.

Some one may kindly suggest solution. Thanks in advance.

Can you provide the error messages you are recieving? How about an example of the URL you are using to attempt access from one of these remote machines.

If you can ping the machines, try accessing the webserver using the IP address: http://192.168.1.23/MySampleSite/Default.aspx (example)

Dear sir,

I have a virtual directory BegASPNET11. in Ch01 of that file Hello.html as well as Hello.aspx are there. Computer name is pcl. On the same computer i can access these files from the URL

http://pcl/BegASPNET11/Ch01/Hello.html aswell as http://pcl/BegASPNET11/Ch01/Hello.aspx

I am trying the same URLs from other computers on the network. But not able to acces these files. Message i am getting is

I had encountered the same problem ...................but mine problem was solved by just turning off the Firewall....

Turn off ur firewall ..........& thn try it again

Setting firewall off has allowed accessing these files from the other computers.

However, there is one question.

Local Network was in the exception list of firewall even then it stopped other computers access.

Also is it advisable to work the network with firewall off. Some one may clarify please.
