    Hello,

I am involved with Classified Kit from day one. I am thinking about a new  and advanced version in a totally different way and keen to know what you guys think of this.

First let me build up a little introductory background making the plans easy to understand.

    ASP.NET MVCSmile

Microsoft is very soon going to release the tutorials and CTP version of MVC that makes many things simpler. Asp.Net team has studied many MVC models like Ruby on rails, PHP on Rails and many other ones. MVC is a web Model that makes many many things simpler that you can really cherish. Ruby on Rails is currently the best succesful model available and growing at a rapid space.

Read the ScottGu blog  here for more details.

    Another Great Information on MVC

Currently Club StarterKit is getting ready with Version 3 and its developed totally with MVC model with SubSonic.
It also has some great features  , inluding Forums too.

     The Asp.Net Step for MVC

Asp.Net MVC is definitely going to rule over the other frameworks. There will be no strict win forms for MVC that means, you can develop either way.

Microsoft has hired  best of Professionals for Supporting the MVC Model and for other reasons.

    (1) John Lam for IronRuby and DLR.
    (2) Scott Hanselman - A genuis
    (3) Phil Haack - A guru who created SubText, Now working full time for MVC
    (4) Rob - Another Guru who created SubSonic.

Rob is now a full time employee for Microsoft and his job includes SubSonic and Jquerry for MVC. He shall be adding Toppings for MVC, and building great Tutorials.

MVC with its clear model shall offer DLR, Dynamic languages and well as Linq support ( Clear ORM ) making MVC model more powerful. I shall be working with IronRuby language for Classified. Since DLR shall support many languages... Language will not be a barrier for creation.

I think of creating Classifieds with many advanced features on the pillars of MVC. Idea
The Classified Kit would be Totally Web 2.0 Oriented.

My Few Ideas of Advanced Classified Kit.
    (1) Forums
    (2) Digg It, RSS Etc under every advertisement Posted.
    (3) Ajax Support
    (4) CSS Adaptor Support
    (5) Auction Support
    (6) Cool Web Admin Support for Managing Members with new IIS7 inbuilt feature
    (7) Photograph support from Flickr ( This helps saving Space on our database, using Flickr Database )
    (8) YouTube Support for showing Videos ( Again saving on Space for Videos )

More Features can be also added by other members

I think it would be nice to study few great PHP Classified Sites which we can see as reference and more features.

I welcome suggestions of features expected and your views and concerns about the MVC.

It would also be great if you can post few links of great PHP classified Sites for references and features.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I really appreciate your site. You have added many tools to the  classified site and its worth noting that what can be achieved with this  kit.

Your extension of classified kit is worth appreciating.

It would be GREAT if you can share the source code and help others to achieve the same things. In the past "YouSaid" had helped a lot by donating his extended Classified Kit. The same thing happens with Club Kit and Personal Kit.

Classified kit is always behind than other kits.It would be great to DONATE it and let others add and share new things to it.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I agree with Paggy. MVC is the way to go for advanced classified version.Yes

MVC CTP is coming within just 72 hours and shall include lots of interesting stuff inside.

What i have heard is " SubSonic is getting merged in to MVC " to take the best of Rails type advantages.
SubSonic is one of the best ORM i have come across. It can also be used as a standalone.

Club Starterkit version 3.0 is based on SubSonic and Version 4.0 announced will be totally MVC+SubSonic.
( Pl. refer codeplex for more information )

Its very sad to see that classified kit is not improved or advanced at all, even after 2 years.

Hope to see, Classified + Club Kit merged with the above mentioned features by paggy very soon.

    Cheers!

     Hello,

Its time to rethink on shifting this " Classified Starterkit " with the Asp.Net MVC approach.

Today at Mix 2008 we shall be getting the  New  Asp.Net MVC with a Go license.

Its time to join hands and convert this to the latest MVC way.

I would like to know, how many members thinks this is the right way to go...
