 I am doing some research for a product we getting ready to begin working on.  We are preparing to build an application for resale.  This application will have a base unit of functionality that the customer will buy/purchase as well as optional modules.  I would prefer to simply deploy one set of Code to install and have a licensing system built into the application.

 Does anyone know of any of the following for ASP.NET 2.0:

• A Licensing System Out of the Box where a generated key will unlock the application
• A Licensing System that support multiple keys to unlock only certain functionality

we are using software shield (checkpoint server) to generates serial number against our products and products get unlocked only after they are validated through web. check http://www.softwareshield.com/

That would work, however, our product will be installed in customer sites where internet access may be disabled and for security reasons and just not being down due to an internet outage is unacceptable.  I appreciate the input.

A software vendor I had seen in the past simply allows for a "Key" to be loaded into the application by an administrator and the key unlocks the software for x amount of time.

I would like the same thing but also the ability to disable modules if the key does not authorize them.

CryptoLicensing ( http://www.ssware.com/cryptolicensing/cryptolicensing_net.htm ) can do what you need - it allows you to specify 'features' in each license which will enable/disable functionality in your app.
