It is supposed to show up in toolbox data tab automatically once installed and i i can only add it as a new reference to my project only if it has a DLL file.

So iam still stuck here.

I’m using Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite, the ReportViewer control already in my toolbox Data tab after installing Visual Studio.

Iam using visual web developer 2005 express edition. I did install the reportviewer some time back on a different machine and it was rifgt there in toolbox data tab after installation, but on the machine iam using these days, its no where to seen. The only difference between the two machine is that the one which has failed to show the reportviewer runs windows 2003 sever and the previous one was running windows XP SP2

Up to now the reportviewer can not show up in toolbox. When i try to add a reference it in my project, i get an error that the selected file is not a valid .net component. Thats when i select the reportviewer.exe file.

ReportViewer.exe is an executable file for setup, not the component for adding reference.

Now ReportViewer SP1 is available for downloading, please try to download and install it.

I have the same problem. I tried to add the RV in the code but there it doesn`t recognise the tags (<rs...). I have searched for a solution on the net but I can`t seem to find one, only some questions.
Running visual webdeveloper 2005 Express Edition, Microsoft visual studio 2005 and SQL server 2005. I use the webdeveloper because it has more design options than the VS.net 2005 software.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Update: I found the report viewer in the windows application part of VS.net 2005. But there it is totally useless because I need to use it as in a web application.
