When Orcas will released?

The release date for the final version of Visual Studio (Orcas) isn't public yet.  I don't know if Orcas will be posted as a Virtual PC image yet, but I'll post more details once its available for download.

Just confirmed that a regular installer and a virtual pc image will be available.

Has the uninstaller been tested to see if it'll cleanly remove the CTP?  Word was that the previous one didn't uninstall cleanly....

It is a Beta release, so although installer and uninstaller has been tested, the testing is not finished. Typically Beta means product is tested in major scenarios and most common cases (think 90%). Therefore, there is chance it may not fully clean your machine. We typically install and uninstall daily builds on dev machines and it works 99% of the time, but once in a while machine does become unusable :-)

Personally I think it's awesome that this time Orcas will also be available as an install.
I don't mind one bit if I'll need to reinstall VS 2005 Pro, and my tool-sets, later; Not one bit...It should be well worth the effort.

With VS 2005 Pro I'm still using, gasp, Macromedia Studio for many things, this next release of Orcas will be like Spring flowers.

I think it's good that it's also provided as an image since I have to test it on my laptop where my development environment is also hosted upon. Last time I downloaded the CTP it didn't have the needed base.....vhd included so I couldn't get it to work. I surely hope it's made available this time as I would love to play around with the new bits.
