Hello, I am new to this technology. Although I have experienced using ajax in java. My problem is at first I have already Microsoft Visual Studio installed which does not support ajax functionality. As I am surfing the net I have found many viideos with the new feature that supports ajax. I have downloaded the package in the tutorial and installed it. Then i tried to make an application similar to the tutorial seen, specifically the "Scott's Todo List" sample video and to my surprise the other application was lost when I created a sample the new web project. The ASP.NET Web Site, ASP.NET Web Service, Empty Web Site, ASP.NET Crystal Reports, Personal Web Site Starter Kit application was gone, and the one was there is the ASP.NET AJAX-Enable Web Site. Is the problem regarding my installation? or I have still something to edit or change with the IDE. Another problem is that I can't read well the Visual Studio IDE since the language is Japanese.

I want to retain the other  5 application and to add the new feature, bt how can I do it? Pls guide me..thanks in advance.

Hi, if you have .Net 1.1 then use first link

    http://ajax.schwarz-interactive.de/csharpsample/default.aspx

DownLoad AJAX RC and CTC for .Net 2.0 from asp.net site.

If you have to develop a new web site then its quite easy Tell  me the version of .Net and the way so that i can send you a project, just run that and it will test  the reason of your problem.

what's CTC, i had only found the CT and CTP? Is it the control toolkit or not? I've already downloaded the Ajax RC...the problem is the CTC....

After downloading this two I will install it directly? Since I already have Visual Studio 2005 installed..

Hello, I had donwloaded and install the AJAX RC and CTP, the new features(ASP.NET Ajax Enabled Website and ASP.NET AJAX-CTP Enabled Website) are there but the other 5 application are gone. Why this happens. Supposedly after installing the new features will be added to the existing but what happen is that it overwrite/replace the existing application. Is there something I still have to do? Pls guide me..thanks

Hi, This is some thing very strange means I have never seen such type of behaviour. Anyways try it this way like Uninstall these new AJAX software.

Check whether now other templates are visible or not . If not then only way left will be install your .Net again.

The procedure to install AJAX is like first you install ASPAJAXExtSetup and then ASPAJAXCTP.

This is what i suggest you should do if you will find some other better option then please go ahead.

One more thing its not necessary to use the template to start AJAX Enabled application you can do the same by just changing your web.config.
