    I noticed that in the Solution Explorer of VWD Express there is a Bin folder that holds the AjaxControlToolkit.dll file.  There is also a file AjaxControlToolkit.pbd.

    What is this file?

    Why does it show up with a generic icon in solution explorer?

    I can use the Ajax controls fine; however, I noticed in the "how to" videos their file has a different icon.  Do I need to download a program or file?

    pdb files are generally are created during a debug build. It contains debugging information, such as allowing you to find which line of code threw an exception etc.
