Hi,

I am using two development machines connecting to a separate server in our organization. I am trying to connect to an Oracle database (9i) from VWD Database Explorer. On one of the development machines, everything is fine, no problem. On the other machine, I get:

ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve the connect identifier specified

So, I am assuming the problem is with one of the development machines, but I can't figure out what the difference is between the two development computers. Does anyone ahve any ideas?

I don't use VWD but check this thread for cause and possible solutions.  Hope this helps.

Sorry, but that thread deals with setting up two versions of Oracle on the same machine, which is not my case.

I am connecting to the SAME oracle server from two machines. One machine is successful, the other ne is not.

We don't know that, I think the original poster got his to work because he had the same version in his box. Here are two possible solutions.  Hope this helps.
