I just downloaded and installed the AJAX 1.0 Beta 2 and AJAX 1.0 CTP (Steps 1 & 2).

When I attempt to follow along with Scott's demo, I'm not seeing the same things - for example, the project that gets created doesn't have a "readme.txt" file, nor do I see a Microsoft.Web.Atlas.dll assembly anywhere.   When creating the project, I didn't see the same templates as depicted in the demo

How do I know if this is due to the video being out of sync with the current version, or if something hasn't been installed properly?

    Answer
Scott's Atlas demo is based on Microsoft Atlas framework, that is to say in Microsoft.Web.Atlas.dll.But in Ajax Beta 2, the corresponding Ajax packages are Microsoft.Web.Extensions.dll and Microsoft.Web.Preview.dll.You can not run Scott's Atlas demo in the latest Ajax framework Beta 2.As far as I know, there is no latest Ajax vedio demo based on Ajax Beta 2.Now Ajax is divided into three parts:Microsoft Ajax library,asp.net 2.0 server extensions and Ajax ControlToolkit. This is different from the old Atlas.
Try to take a look at this link to download Ajax Beta 2 and Futures Nov CTP - http://ajax.asp.net/default.aspx?tabid=47&subtabid=471
Try to take a look at this link to download Ajax control toolkit - http://www.codeplex.com/AtlasControlToolkit/Release/ProjectReleases.aspxTry
Try to read this document about Ajax - http://ajax.asp.net/docs/Default.aspx
If you want to run Scott's Atlas demo, you need to install Atlas package first.
Wish the above can help you.
