I can't get this to install on Vista Build 5536.

I continually get 2869 errors from the msi installer.

Does anyone else have this problem?  Is there a work around?

    Hi,

I have the same problem (on vista pre-rc1).

Won't install for me either and it gives me the same error message. Also, i can't install Atlas either. At first i rushed a bit and forgot to install the IIS, but after installing it and trying again i still get the same error.

No luck so far, maybe someone knows what's up..

    /Peter

    Got the same problem too.....

Is there any workaround for this issue.... or an update maybe?!

Does this issue exist on Vista RC1 (not a preRC1)?

Temporary removing UAC (not sure whether it is necessary or not) and running in XP SP2 compatibility mode seems to solve the issue... at least that worked for me :)

Ok.  Got lost, how do you remove the UAC and runin compat mode?  I can't find anywhere in the properties of my msi to get it to install in compat mode?

    1. To remove the User Account Control you need to go to Control Panel - > User accounts. There you will find an option to turn on or off the UAC (User account control).

     2. To run in Win XP SP 2 compatibility mode you can go to Control Panel -> Programs  and use the "Use an older program with this version of windos" link. This will start up a wizard that will allow you to select in which compatibilty mode you wish to run the WebApplication project (or any other program) in.

    Me too.

The advice above (from Marko) about turning off UAC solved it for me.

Didn't need to run in compatible mode.

    Thanks Marko.
