Anyone thinking about signing up to Ultima Hosts DON'T!
I signed up for their enterprise account, tried to enable frontpage extensions and found I couldn't.
I emailed support, and instead of apologising they merely reply, 'We have updated our site now.', so they have little respect for the terms of a legally binding contract.
ps. Has anyone ever dealt with anyone besides 'Mark Schiavetta'?
I'm beginning to wonder if he is a 19 year old running Ultima from his parents basement.
Even the Sales and Tech support numbers are the same, something seems a bit odd here.
I have been with Ultima for nearly 2 years. There have been some problems, but until this weekend none too major. I've had enough though. They've had a box with my MySQL space that's been down for over 48 hours. I have 3 sites that are down as a result.
No these problems relate to Virtuozzo 3.5.1. We ditched Plesk a long long time ago for Dot Net Panel (the best thing we have ever done). In the future I think we are only going to be offering Virtuozzo 4.x with clustering failover to avoid this issue. No
more cheap hosting. Well that policy changed quite awhile back but now we are really going to push it.
Thanks for your support though.
By the way if anyone is affected please contact our support@ultimahosts.net for an instant temporary VPS or shared account. We can also move you to our EU or Australian based servers if this suits you.
The Virtuozzo team have been working on this issue since Saturday morning. Hold on a minute these guys also build Plesk!

Thats a great compliment. I bet he wishes to be 19 again. I will be sure to pass it on.
Ultima Hosts have support staff in London, Houston, Virginina, Montevideo and Melbourne. As well as a presence in 5 data centers. They operate colocation and dedicated servers from their Melbourne branch as well as a server retail company (Ultima Computer
Systems est 1993). Shared, VPS and dedicated services from Dallas, Michigan and London.
Staff are also MS certified. So it is a big operation and always growing rapidly with plans to add Spanish support, game server networks and Team Foundation hosting.
We are also a Parallels Gold Partner. Dot Net Panel and SmarterTools partner.
Mark currently lives in Montevideo, Uruguay and travels extensively to manage the entire operation with the other partners.
May be they are Gold Partners, professionals, etc.
But they removed all topics on their forum (http://forums.ultimahosts.net/) about this crash (5 day offline in total). Even the topic were Mr. Schiavetta posted news about this crash (I got the link per mail). And my topic, were other peoples reported the
problem too.
I am afraid but it's very bad signal. I can't imagine a professional doing such things...
Browser cache is a wonderful thing. I have both threads saved locally... I've already started switching my sites over to a new host. I had one host in the past, who was terrible, but at least when they screwed up would punish themselves by rewarding their
clients with free add-ons.
I'm with WebHost4Life now (and happy after a week). I still have my Ultima account, but only until my migration is complete. I've written about my transition and experiences with various hosters over the years at:

Mark,
I hope everything works out well with getting the sites back online. Are you guys staying with PLESK or moving over to another CP?

That's why I mentioned Plesk ;). I heard their dev team isn't the best thing in the world.

Could you post later some feedback about your new host?
But Ultima is still relatively good comparing with my previous hoster (ipowerweb)...
