Does SSRS have something in the reporting world akin to 'master pages' in the web world?

I just read a cool article on how to create SSRS templates that can be physically dropped into the templates directory on your local hard drive which will then show up on the templates list when you add a new item to the project.

However, this seems to be a static solution.

I was wondering if there is a way to, in your project, create templates that stay with the project that are similar to master pages that you may have seen with web development in .NET. That way if you simply want to update the look and feel of 200 reports in a project you can do so by simply updating the one file.

In this template I would simply like your typical logo, report title, page numbers, in the Header and typical information in the footer as well.

Any thoughts on how this can be done? I am about to embark on a huge reporting project and want to make sure I start out right as I am not very experienced in SSRS. :)

PS - If I am simply having a bad day of googling and somehow skipped right around something obvious about SSRS 2012 then I am not offended if you simply want to say "google <this> stupid" as I may very well have missed something.

Error while rendering report in Excel using SSRS

I am getting this message, while opening in excel.. any ideas on how I can deal with this?

Report Viewer Configuration Error - VS2012 - Debugging (ie: not deployed)

Hi all,

I know this error is documented in *many* post in the web. I've sure read all of them and can not make my report working. This is a small application I built using VS2012 and deployed in a server some weeks ago. Everything is working fine with deployed app. Now, I'm trying to add a report in VS2012 and this situation arises.

When I debug my app and try to get the report, all I get is this message:

The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file. Add <add verb="*" path="Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd" type = "Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.HttpHandler, Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91" /> to the system.web/httpHandlers section of the web.config file

As I said, this is well reported in posts around the web; I have applied some suggested solutions, but to no avail.

As per some posts, I've added this sections to my web.config file:

ReportViewer 2010 Certificate Issue

I had to change my ReportViewer from 2008 to 2010.

I modified the web.config as follows to run the reportviewer.

The reportviewer renders the report correctly and all is fine until the user tries to print. When they try printing they get a message to install a certificate to certificate path: Microsoft Root Authority->Microsoft Code Signing PCA->Microsoft Corportation

general information:

- Issued To: Microsoft Corporation

- Issued By: Microsoft Code Signing PCA

- Valid: 2/21/2011 to 5/21/2012.

Is there something I need to change/deploy/etc? I need to get this so it doesn't ask them to install every time they want to print something.

Changing the paper size in runtime

Hi,

I have a wpf application (sorry for posting in a ASP.NET forums but rdlc and rdl are quite the same).

Currently, I have this requirement where we need to change the paper size on certain countries in runtime. I already implemented the changing of margin by accessing the rdlc's xml content and change it there but I can't see the paper size info. Is that possible?

Hiding Row Group Columns

I have a report that has multiple groups mostly in rows and some column group but I need to show certain columns in row group based on parameters (the columns to be displayed) selected. As show in the image when i right click on specialty column the column visibility is not available. Can somebody help me on this?

Print All Pages of Reportviewer using ASP.net

Hi all,

I am using ReportViewer in ASP.net 2.0. It was a local Report and bind data from Dataset. It was workd well . But , My problem was, when i need to go print , i cann't do it. I searched google and found solution using Javascript.

Get Html code by using document.getElementbyID(controlname).innerHTML().

Write that code to New window. And then print page by using window.print() function.

But , the problem is it only prints first page, Not all pages. If my report goes to more than one page, Print first page only. Can you help me please?.

How to print report in reportviewer. It should be worked in IIS or client machine.

How to catch reportviewer's time-out error message?

When my report has too much data, it will display "time out" error message. But I want to catch it and display with more friendly message.

So I add reportViewer.ReportError += viewReport_ReportError; event. But it failed to display ErrorLabel text. Is there anyone know how to display that?

It always display the timeout error message and parameter panel is hidden. ErrorPanel and ErrorLabel are hidden too.

Hi !!!

I am facing a problem. I have a tablix and i add group header (Global!Excution) for it.

I have set Repeat Column/Row Headers properties in the property pane.

RepeatOnNewPage is true.

But when i export to pdf, it only repeat header at the first and last page. Some data is correct, but some data it only repeat header at the first and last page.

Please help me !!!

I need to sum up the last column E where I indicated 31. The cells with values 12,10,9 are obtained by =Sum(Fields!A.Value + Fields!B.Value + Fields!C.Value + Fields!D.Value).

I can't change the sql query and/or the dataset that is used. Does any one have a suggestion? Thanks!

ReportViewer not working through Akamai caching server

My SSRS report is working fine on Dev server but if open it though akamai caching server, report viewer toolbar themes and height width is shrinking on all the browsers.

really i frustrated... i am not getting this issue is because of my coding, reportviewer or akamai server.
