Forums was down about 10 Minutes & got the issue as Service Unavailable

Hi,

Today I experienced that Forum section was downl from 1:24 PM IST to 1:32 PM IST, i got error as:

Service Unavailable

HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.

Could you please look into this !

Hi All,

I was just curious about this thing and just want to confirm whether this feature is permanently discontinued.. I was trying to get a weblog for the past few months but everytime I got this response that "We are not giving any weblogs anymore for the time being and might be accepting new bloggers in the first quarter of 2013".

But After this I didnt get any kind of acknowledgement regarding the same afterwards. So Is this service permanently discontinued? Are there any chances of accepting new bloggers?

Why can I no longer use the Paste From Word Capability?

Does anyone know why the "paste from word" capability no longer works? It is an unnecessary pain to have to open the html window each time I want to do a simple paste.

Bizarre Response Appearance

I posted a question related to Entity Framework earlier today and it was deleted stating it had nothing to do with ASP.NET. While that may technically be true(depending on how badly you wanna delete a post for no reason), it did have everything to do with Entity Framework and this is a forum related to Entity Framework. Looks like Microsoft customer-service oriented days are over. They've gone Barrack Obama on everybody with Windows 8. Now, if they don't like your post they just delete it I guess.

Microsoft has to be the dumbest company on planet earth. I wonder how long they will survive at this point.

Through a blog of scott hanselman I found a link to the whitepapers section of the website, but I can't seem to find a way to navigate to it from the landing page. Only through search I can find it. Could this become accesible from the menu maybe?

500 Server Errors and a few other Issues

I've noticed several issues this morning that I thought I would report :

500 Server Errors (as visible from the browser Console) that mostly relates to plug-ins. This has affected the ability to post questions (as the Editor did not load properly) and when using the Link button through the editor.

Avatar issues - It appears that several users Gravatars are not visible when looking at a thread. I have noticed this happening to my own, as well as a few other users (mostly those with custom images)

I just thought those were a few issues that were going on that seem to be all over the place this morning and are probably all related to the same cause (some issue with loading resources). Clearing the cache and performing a hard refresh (CTRL+F5) appears to help sometimes but not always.

First I wanna say that I've left Microsoft but I still love this nice place to chat with all of you as a volunteer, so I once asked some moderators to remove "Microsoft" (gray icon) behind my name, that's done!

But I find that at the back of my name there's "MSFT"……——So would any of you change my name to "ProgrammingVolunteer"？

Reset my start to 0, Reset my score to 0. I wanna start from zero;)

Bizarre MVP Logic

I was looking over the leaderboard today and was overwhelmed at the number of MVP tags that appear near almost everyone's name (including my own).

I had thought that these indicated Microsoft MVPs (which is why my name surprised me), however after continuing to look over them I noticed that those that I know for a fact are MVPs such as ignatandrei, mikesdotnettings and XIII (Kris) didn't have the tag :

I didn't know if there was some possible maintenence going on or if this indicator was different than I originally imagined.

I posted a thread at this link on 27-04-2013. After that day I did not visit to this site. But there are two post as reply and one of the post is marked as answer. I felt such things few more times on my past posts.Before it I ignored that as I was not sure about it. But this time I am sure I did no mark that as answer.

Another layout issue in non-forum pages

Hi,

I had reported an issue in layout of header which was recently been fixed and it works

however, I noticed that similalr issue appears in non-forum pages.

I am using IE8 and when I navigate to non-forum pages by clicking on header menu like... Community, MVC, Web Forms etc.

it opens that perticular section fine. but, the user name/icon at top right corner comes over header.. i.e. it doset stay at the top, instead it shifts little down and overlapps with "Forums" menu item.

Althoguh, when I again go to Forums menu, the profile name goes back to proper solution.

hope the issue explaination was clear :)
