Issues with GENERATE LOCAL RESOURCE FILE...............?

hi,

1) we generate the localresource file using ..TOOLS>GENERATE LOCAL RESOURCE ... (VS 2012)

2) problem as follows........

3) BEFORE generate the resources...............its look like below

4) AFTER generate the resources...............its look like below

<a href='Eval("SomeID")%>&Mode=SomeMode"> TEST DATA </a>

THE PROBLEM :: after generate the resource file ... HREF tag MISSED the FIRST PART

i have a regular expression validator

when some special characters is enter the regular expression validator error message is shown from the local resource file like this

What i want to do is i want to display error message like :

lblCustomField3.text: please provide valid value.

how can i do it in a resource file. or there is some another way!!

Hello,

I'm createing a website in asp.net 2010 sp1, the user can choose the language he wants (between English and Arabic).

I created 2 columns in DB and when the user changes the language i will load the text and disply it in Literal control.

I tried to use the localization, the problem I'm curently having is with the direction of the page, in arabic the direction is from right to left, can anyone tell me how to change the direction of the page (div)?

In English <div style="direction:ltr"></div>

While in arabic <div style="direction:rtl"></div>

How to change the direction using localization?

I have several local resource files: default.aspx.resx, default.aspx.nl.resx, default.aspx.en.resx

Now when I'm on the Dutch domain the default.aspx.nl.resx is loaded. But now I want to access the value from default.aspx.en.resx and get the English value belonging to name "title".

I can now achieve this by changing the current culture server-side, access the value and then change it back, like so:

Custom Culture

We are using en-ZA in our web.config to set the Culture for our Web site.

However the Decimal seperator for Numbers and Currency is a "Comma" (,) and not a "period" (.)

We have changed the sperator for the culture on the Server's Regional Settings and Copied and Applied to all System Accounts.

Our Controls still display the Default Seperator and not the customized seperator.

Is there an easy way to force the application to use the customized culture. We are using Windows 2012 Server and IIS 8.

I have a website in languages English and Polish. I have two files in App_GlobalResources: Site.en-US.aspx and Site.aspx

To set the UI culture and culture for all pages, I added a globalization section to the Web.config file.

Localy my application works ok. When I install website on server all Labels like:

<asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" Text="<%$ Resources:Site, ABC %>"></asp:Label>

get Text from Site.en-US.aspx but when I use programmatic access :

rm = new ResourceManager("Resources.Site"

System.Reflection.Assembly.Load("App_GlobalResources"));

ci = Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture;

Label1.Text = rm.GetString("ABC", ci);

I have Text form Site.aspx.

I think that the server is set to en-US language.

How can I fix my problem?

I have couple of below options which i am thinking on can you provide your insight on the same:

1. Supporting MaxLength in Culture Specific way : Place MaxLength value in a resource file and read the value from resource file (need to use "<%$ Resources: XYZ_MaxLength%>" manually in ASP.NET ASPX page).

So each of the culture will have different MaxLength values, Database installation or setup will go with MaxLength value untill WebSite is supporting single language at a time.

Drawbacks: how do we know whats the accepatable MaxLength value, may be respective language experts are the correct people to suggest MaxLength.

2. Universal Max Length value : We can go for universal value which will fit for all languages.Challange with this approach how to comeup with Universal MaxLength value again.

Hi there,

Validation messages on my german environment are shown in german. But published to my american hoster they are shown in english. I changed the globalization within the web.config. Without the desired result.

I found many solutions to build my own localization-files, but I want to use the build-in messages. In nuget I found a resource for localized EF-Messages. I searched for hours finding an answer how I can use the "German Resource For Entity Framework". In a MVC4 sample project from Microsoft it is installed by default. I can see a dll called "EntityFramework.resources.dll" in a folder called "de".

But I do not know how to use it. I do not even know wether it is what I am looking for.

Any ideas?

Crazier localization

Hej fellers, i have a site that is localized to 5 languages. I had a problem writing the same resource for all the 5 languages so i decided to place some global resources in the App_GlobalResources. The disadvantage i have found in this is that the resources in APP_GlobalResources become too large to even manage. Any work around from this?

How to reload a resource set?

I have a resourcemanager that implements IResourceReader for a sql database. We have created a resource editor but cannot figure out how to force a ResourceSet to reload after the edits. If you call .Close and = new ResourceSet(XXX); It throws errors when it next attempts to read.

ANy ideas how to get a resourceset out of the cache and to reload?

hello everyone,

i have a website that reads some of its content from a database, i need this website in both languages, English and arabic.

the needed content is duplicated in the database in both languages. lets say i have a En_Name and Ar_Name columns in my database.

and for example for the arabic version of the website a link will display a text from Ar_Name , and with the english one it should display the text from the En_Name.

for the static content in my website i think it is a good idea to use the ASP.NET default localization using (.resx files). but what i dont know is how to do the localization for the dynamic section of the website.

So, how can i make the same hyperLink read once from the Ar_Name field, and then from the En_Name based on the users choise (Localization)?
